Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. It is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1. Prep is a full-time program in primary schools and has a defined curriculum. Children attend Monday to Friday, generally from 8.30am to 2.30pm. Children must be 5 by 30 June in the year they enrol. Early or delayed entry to Prep are options which may be considered in specific circumstances and where it is in a child's best educational interests. Please make an appointment with the Principal in the year prior to your child being eligible for Prep to discuss.

In preparation for your child's entry into Prep in 2023, we invite you to collect an enrolment pack from the school office or kindy. This pack contains essential information about the school, permissions and enrolment details. Please complete the forms in the enrolment pack so we are able to enrol your child as a future student of Tieri SS.

We would appreciate it if you could complete the paperwork as soon as possible and then contact the school for an enrolment interview at your earliest convenience. At the interview you will have the opportunity to discuss any needs specific to your child as they begin their years at primary school. Later in the term we will also receive the transition statement from kindy if you provide your permission for this to be shared with the school.
